About the Department

 The Department of Behavioural Sciences and Psychiatry serves is a fundamental cornerstone within the School of Medical and Health Sciences. Our primary objective is to deliver comprehensive education and foster research initiatives in the fields of Psychology, Sociology, Psychiatry, Public Health, and Community Medicine.

In alignment with the Education 5.0 policy, we are committed to driving innovation and industrialisation activities. Our department hosts a number of MPhil and DPhil candidates, who are engaged in research endeavours with the aim of developing valuable products and services.

We adopt a proactive, community-centric approach, ensuring that the majority of our activities are deeply rooted in community engagement. This strategy allows us to maintain a strong connection with the community while contributing to its overall well-being and development.
